Drain Cleaning Terms of Service
Binding contractual policies, property preparation standards, diagnostic evaluation procedures, and plumbing safety protocols across our nationwide service network.
Effective Date: January 1, 2026 • Last Revised: Current Operating Season
1. Operational Scope & Contractor Referral Network
Engaging technical dispatch services through https://primedrainpros.com or contacting our intake coordinators at 877-650-8714 creates a binding agreement governed by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). This agreement establishes operating conditions for both residential and commercial property owners requesting mechanical drain snaking, hydro-jetting, or sewer pipeline camera inspections.
Technical dispatch operations connect property owners experiencing drainage clogs with independent, third-party plumbing professionals. Independent contractors execute all physical diagnostic assessments, cable augering, water jetting, and pipe restorations under their own independent business entities. Each contractor maintains sole legal responsibility for their state licenses, municipal registrations, liability coverage, and work quality. Requesting dispatch assistance confirms acknowledgment of this independent contractor referral relationship.
2. Diagnostic Assessment & Written Work Authorization
Field services adhere to a disciplined three-stage operational workflow:
- Symptom Intake & Dispatch: Dispatch operators record reported failure patterns (slow drainage, multi-fixture toilet bubbling, exterior cleanout weeping, or kitchen trap clogs) and dispatch a local service provider with suitable mechanical equipment.
- On-Site Diagnostic Examination: Technicians inspect accessible cleanout access ports, measure line pitch, test simultaneous fixture flow, and run fiber-optic cameras to identify whether obstructions stem from soft grease, mineral scale, foreign objects, or tree root invasion.
- Itemized Written Estimate: Technicians present a written, itemized proposal detailing recommended intervention (sectional power snaking, high-pressure jetting, or line repair), labor costs, and required hardware before introducing mechanical tools. No mechanical work starts without explicit written customer approval.
3. Job Site Preparation & Workspace Safety
Safe operation of high-torque cable machines and 4,000 PSI water jetters requires compliance with specific workspace criteria:
- Authorized Adult Representation: A property owner or designated agent of at least 18 years old possessing legal authority to sign repair authorizations and approve diagnostic charges must remain on site for the duration of the service appointment.
- Unobstructed Access Pathways: Clear, lighted access routes must be maintained leading to main cleanouts, basement floor drains, crawlspaces, or roof vent flashings. Cleanout caps must not be encased in concrete, behind finished drywall, or buried beneath landscape timbers without prior exposure.
- Hazard Mitigation & Chemical Disclosures: Property occupants must explicitly notify technicians if caustic chemical drain openers (lye, sulfuric acid, or sodium hydroxide) have been poured into the plumbing fixtures prior to technician arrival. Failure to disclose chemical use creates severe chemical burn risks for technicians handling rotating cables and may void service warranties. Work areas must remain clear of loose debris, electrical cords, and unrestrained domestic animals.
4. Plumbing Industry Standards & Building Codes
Independent plumbing specialists perform all cabling, jetting, and pipeline evaluations in compliance with applicable editions of the International Plumbing Code (IPC), Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), and local jurisdictional amendments. Mechanical power augers, carbide root blades, and optical push-cameras conform to professional plumbing trade standards.
Property owners are obligated to report known structural pipe anomalies, including historically collapsed Orangeburg fiber pipes, crushed clay laterals, or undocumented fixture tap-ins that could trap rotating cable blades.
5. Safety Hazards & Environmental Protections
Severe drainage failures involve toxic sewer gas (hydrogen sulfide and methane), hazardous biohazards, and high hydraulic head pressures. Technicians follow strict safety policies:
- Active Biohazard Flooding: If an active backup is releasing contaminated blackwater into finished living quarters or HVAC return plenums, technicians may require immediate water supply shutoff and surface containment before continuing mechanical line snaking.
- Structural Lateral Collapse: Technicians are strictly prohibited from forcing heavy mechanical cutting heads past broken, collapsed, or severely offset pipe walls where machinery entrapment or foundation destabilization could occur.
- Cleanout Backpressure Safety: When head pressure behind a threaded cleanout cap indicates several vertical feet of trapped wastewater, technicians must deploy containment reservoirs before unscrewing fittings to prevent indoor sewage spills.
6. Diagnostic Fees, Invoicing, & Payment Terms
- Diagnostic Fees: A standard dispatch evaluation fee covers vehicle transit, initial line symptom evaluation, and multi-fixture drainage testing. This diagnostic fee is earned upon delivery of the assessment, regardless of whether the property owner elects to proceed with additional mechanical cabling or jetting.
- Payment on Completion: Charges for completed drain clearing, video inspections, and diagnostics are due in full upon job completion. Approved payment methods include major credit cards, debit cards, and established commercial accounts.
- Cancellation Notice: For scheduled maintenance cleanings and non-emergency video scopes, notice of cancellation is requested at least 24 hours in advance to allow scheduling adjustment for emergency sewage backups.
7. Warranties, Pipe Limitations, & Liability Caps
- Drain Flow Warranties: Clearing warranties are limited to the specific line serviced and depend on pipe condition, pipe material, and the presence of invasive root systems. Specific warranty durations, if applicable, are recorded directly on the technician's completed invoice.
- Pre-Existing Pipe Deterioration: Neither the dispatch service nor independent technicians assume liability for pre-existing structural defects, collapsed clay tiles, corroded cast iron bottoms, tree root penetration, or water damage that occurred prior to service arrival.
- Limitation of Liability: To the greatest extent permissible by applicable law, aggregate liability arising out of any referral, diagnostic evaluation, or clearing operation, whether based on contract or negligence, shall not exceed the total amount paid by the customer for that specific service visit. Consequential, incidental, or indirect property damages are expressly excluded.
8. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed according to the laws of the jurisdiction where the physical drain cleaning service was performed, without regard to conflict of law principles. Parties agree to attempt informal, good-faith mediation to resolve any billing or operational disputes prior to initiating formal arbitration or legal action.
